USE IT AS a reading nook, a place to sip your coffee or to simply get some fresh air without the need to look presentable, a balcony might be a big selling point for any house hunter. This week, we’ve scoured the country and found four homes with balconies ready and waiting to be enjoyed.
This large six-bed in Tankardstown spans 270 m² and is located near Drogheda, Ashbourne, Balbriggan and Stamullen. The Orchard Field sits on 1.1 of an acre and is an impressive 315 m² in size. A split-level home designed by architect Margaret Walsh, the house originally dates back to 1994 but saw a generous extension in 2008, which upped the floor space considerably. On the ground floor, the hallway leads to the main social spots, a studio and two large open plan areas that combine the kitchen and a dining area and then a living space and another place to eat in. While two sets of French doors lead to patios, a third set opens out on to the wraparound balcony. Two of the generously-sized bedrooms, including the main bedroom, reside on the ground floor along with a large bathroom. This level has underfloor heating. The first floor is where the three remaining bedrooms are located, one of which is en suite, while the other two share a bathroom.
