LOCATED ALONG THE Ring of Kerry and with views towards Kenmare Bay and the Caha Mountains, Dina’s Cottage boasts an address that many dream of calling ‘home’.
The three-bed house, which comes with a separate one-bed guest cottage, is tucked away on 1.38 acres of mature grounds with an array of trees, shrubs, plants and a decorative pond.
There’s also an orchard with apple, pear and plum trees, as well as blackcurrant, redcurrant and gooseberry bushes. For those with a green thumb a polytunnel will offer possibilities, while a hen house means that if you’re so minded, you can enjoy fresh eggs on toast for breakfast every morning.
Built in 1995, the main house spans two storeys and 1,151 sq ft while the guest accommodation, which was built in 2011, measures 903 sq ft.
The interior of the main house is warm and welcoming, with a bright sunroom/porch which enjoys views towards Kenmare Bay and access to a south-facing patio.
The open plan kitchen, living and dining area benefits from plenty of natural light and ample space to dine, unwind or to entertain. A large wood-burning stove provides the perfect spot to curl up in front of on cold Kerry winter evenings.
There’s one bedroom and a guest bathroom on the ground floor, while the first floor comprises two bedrooms and a bathroom. The master bedroom is at this level and has beautiful views of the bay through picture windows, no doubt making for a great way to start each day.
There is some renovation needed in parts of the house, such as in the first floor bathroom, but overall the property is in good condition.
The guest cottage, which can be accessed via the main house, is a highly impressive space. With vaulted ceilings throughout, wooden floors and unique furnishings, the property is filled with character and charm.
The kitchen and dining room features a countryside feel, with open shelving, checkerboard tiled flooring and wooden worktops. A staircase leads from here to the mezzanine level, which is ideal for storage.
Also in the cottage is a spacious and inviting living/music room. There’s a double height vaulted ceiling with wooden beams in here, while a large wood-burning stove divides the living/music room from the bedroom/study area. A bathroom completes the guest accommodation.
If you can drag yourself away from the tranquil grounds, Dina’s Cottage is a 20-minute stroll from Coss Strand Bay Beach, while there’s no shortage of beautiful walking routes to enjoy along the Ring of Kerry.
With a charming interior, idyllic gardens and a picture-perfect location, Dina’s Cottage offers a peaceful lifestyle that would be hard to tire of.
